ABOUT THE ARTIST
Nice to meet you!
I’m Kayla - or Elandria, if you prefer the pen name.
Growing up in the Midwestern United States, I always wanted to do something creative. But I never could stick with just one thing. While I was attending college for my writing courses, I rediscovered my passion for art. Sure, the class was stuffy and formal but that didn’t stop me from loving it. There, I saw other students using digital art tablets. I instantly wanted one. Needed, maybe?
It started with Krita on a Microsoft Surface Pro. I would work on unreasonably massive canvases and teaching myself as I went. Then disaster: the battery expanded in my tablet and it died. Because I’d bought it refurbished, I was out of luck there. So I reluctantly looked into an iPad Pro. It was a gamble, but when I was finally able to try Procreate it was all worth it.
Working a part time job, working a farm market stall with my mom, writing, taking college courses, and then art on top of it? Those were some busy years for me. I’ve come so far since then, and developed my craft to a point that I feel proud to call myself a writer and an artist.
Still. Being either of these things is difficult, especially living in a rural area. Dealing with chronic illness only compounds my problems. But through it all, I’ve never stopped creating. It’s that same passion that I bring to the table for every project I’m hired for. Because my clients’ success is my success, from the smallest illustration to ghostwritten game bibles.
